Who we are
Muscaria Wisdom is a non-profit, donation-based community initiative dedicated to reviving and honoring the spirit of the Amanita muscaria mushroom. Known for centuries throughout Europe as a traditional medicine in shamanic practices, Amanita muscaria holds a deep cultural and spiritual significance that has largely been forgotten in modern times. Our aim is to bring awareness back to this ancient path, offering opportunities for education, reflection, individual counseling, and community connection.
Based in Portugal, we are a group of inspired individuals who have personally experienced the transformative presence of Amanita muscaria in our lives. These experiences have encouraged us to share what we have learned with others who feel drawn to explore this medicine path. We believe that the spirit of Amanita muscaria can open new perspectives on healing, connection, and understanding of the natural world.
Our work focuses not only on education about the traditional use of this mushroom but also on building bridges with other schools of alternative healing. By creating spaces for dialogue and exchange, we hope to contribute to a wider appreciation of diverse healing traditions and their relevance in contemporary life.
Another central part of our vision is the cultivation of authentic community and human connection. To this end, we regularly host gatherings where participants explore non-sexual intimacy and authentic ways of relating to others. These gatherings are designed to encourage openness, respect, and meaningful encounters, while also offering a setting to learn more about the spirit and tradition of Amanita muscaria.
As a non-profit, donation-based initiative, our activities are sustained entirely through the generosity of those who resonate with our mission. We see this as a way to keep our work accessible, rooted in community, and aligned with values of sharing rather than profit.
